Ruling GD founder and Chair congratulates Merab Dvalishvili on championship victory

Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and Honorary Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, congratulated UFC fighter Merab Dvalishvili on winning a championship title.

“I congratulate our proud and distinguished athlete, Merab Dvalishvili, on his victory in the championship fight. Merab is a true example of relentless hard work and fighting spirit. He has put in invaluable effort to achieve this success,” Ivanishvili said in his statement.

He emphasized that Dvalishvili’s triumph results from great patience and discipline, qualities that lead to the accomplishment of desired goals and elevate Georgia’s sports reputation globally.

“With Merab Dvalishvili, our homeland, this small Georgia, now has its second champion. I once again thank him for representing Georgia on the world stage,” Ivanishvili added.

Merab Dvalishvili is one of Georgia’s most prominent UFC athletes, who defeated Sean O’Malley to win the UFC bantamweight championship at UFC 306 in Las Vegas on September 15.
