Coronavirus cases still surge in Georgia, daily infections stand at 5,924

The cases of Covid-19 are still surging in Georgia, despite stopping of public transport, prohibition of large events and making wearing of facemasks mandatory both indoors and outdoors. 

 

The country has reported 5,924 new cases of coronavirus of 47,288 tests, 4,777 recoveries and 60 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

 

57,840 individuals have Covid-19 in Georgia as of today, while 7,410 of them are undergoing treatment at hospitals. 

 

Most of the new cases were reported in capital Tbilisi - 2,302, coastal Adjara - 629 and Imereti regions - 803. 

 

Georgia  has had 523,022 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 

 

458,265 of the 523,022 patients have recovered, while 6,891 have died from the virus.

 

1,010,096 individuals have received one dose of the vaccine in the country so far, since March 2021,of which 306,151individuals have been fully  vaccinated. 

 

Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines are available in Georgia. 

 

Along with hospitals and clinics, field hospitals in Didi Digomi district and on Kavtaradze street, for 500 and 200 patients consequently, are also receiving Covid-19 patients.
