US Harvard’s Davis Center to offer Georgian studies

Courses on Georgia, including Georgian language classes, will be offered by the US Harvard’s Davis Center in history and social sciences every year starting in the spring semester of 2022, the government of Georgia has stated.

Georgian Education Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli says that the ‘historic’ initiative belongs to PM Irakli Garibashvili who will be the first to deliver a lecture at the centre in February 2022.

Chkhenkeli says that the program ‘is unique’ also for the US.

The Georgian government has allocated 2.3 million USD for the program which aims to expand knowledge of Georgian history, culture, literature, and politics by American students.

The program will also fund  research projects of Georgian scholars and their visits to Harvard.
