Passing driving license in real conditions becomes mandatory in Georgia starting 2022

Passing the driving license in real conditions will become mandatory in Georgia starting April 25, 2022 as the Georgian parliament approved a bill proposed by the country’s Interior Ministry with its third and final reading earlier today.

“Starting April 25, 2022, it will be mandatory to pass a driving license in real conditions. This applies to the first category 'B' and ‘BE’ category cars.

“From November 7, 2022, passing the real-time driving test will be mandatory for all categories," said the ministry.

The practical part of the driving test will be held in two stages.

The first stage (special maneuvers) will be held at a closed examination site (as is currently the case), and if successfully passed, the second stage will be held in real traffic conditions, pre-selected by the Minister of Internal Affairs.
