Georgian citizen, illegally convicted by occupation forces, in coma

Georgian citizen Genadi Bestaev, who was illegally detained and then convicted by the Russian-controlled de facto authorities of Tskhinvali back in 2019, had a stroke in Tskhinvali prison on Monday and was transported to the Tbilisi-controlled territory late yesterday.

Bestaev was illegally sentenced to three years in prison for ‘illegally crossing the border and drug dealing.’

Tbilisi has been demanding his release from illegal detention since November 2019.

Now he is in a hospital in Tbilisi.

However, doctors say that his health condition is critical and the patient remains unconscious.

Bestaev was illegally detained near his house, in the village of Zardiaantkari, in central Georgia in mid-November of 2019.

Russians made barbed-wire-fences in the yard of his house.
