Parliament approves 2022 state budget

The Georgian parliament has approved the 2022 state budget earlier today with  78 votes for and one against in the 150-member state legislature. 


The macroeconomic parameters of the budget are as follows:


GDP growth is expected at 6% and stands at GEL 65 billion in nominal terms.The deficit is set at 4.2%, while the allocations reach GEL 19.171 bln. Income tax forecast was set at GEL 4,643 million.Current expenses - 14.8 billion GEL.Capital expenditures - 5.9 billion GEL.The amount of budget revenues - 19.362.6 million GEL.


Healthcare and social programs, education and infrastructure projects are again the main priorities in the 2022 state budget.


Salaries of teachers, pensioners and veterans are expected to rise in the next year.
