Four Georgian ministers test positive for coronavirus

Four Georgian ministers - Education Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili, Infrastructure Minister Irakli Karseladze and Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze have tested positive for coronavirus. 

All of them are undergoing treatment at home and working remotely. 

The ministers are vaccinated and all of them have a mild form of the virus. 

Coronavirus cases are on the rise in the county as the Omicron strain is spreading rapidly. 

The country has recorded 7,947 new cases, 5,550 recoveries, and 31 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

The positivity rate for the past 14 days increased to 13.08%.

77,049 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia as of now.
