Russia adds Navalny to ‘terrorists and extremists’ list

Russia has added imprisoned Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, as well as several of his close aides, to the country’s “terrorists and extremists”register.

 

The register, which is under Russia’s Federal Financial Monitoring Service, lists people who Russian government believes are involved in activities that support “terrorist or extremist” organizations.

 

Navalny, Lyubov Sobol, Vyacheslav Gimadi, Georgy Alburov, Ruslan Shaveddinov have been put on the list.

 

Navalny is currently serving a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence which he was given in February 2021 on charges that he violated probation while he was recuperating in Germany after being poisoned.
