The Republican and Strategy Agmashenebeli parties have stated that they will sign an alternative document in support of Ukraine offered by the opposition Droa party.
The parliamentary opposition has refused to sign a draft resolution in support of Ukraine proposed by the ruling Georgian Dream party, stating that the document ‘fails to make clear messages about Russia’s role in the tension and destabilization.’
The document offered by Droa describes Russia as an aggressor which occupies the territories of Georgia and Ukraine and undermines regional security.
Droa has invited political parties to sign the document and express support for Ukraine.
The ruling party, however, says that the draft offered by them fully responds to current challenges and is not provocative.
Ukraine and Russia are on the verge of war as Russia has assembled 100,000 soldiers at the border.
