Georgia reports one Covid death in seven days

Georgia has reported one coronavirus death between May 9 and May 15, the country’s National Center for Disease Control said on Tuesday. 

Georgia has recorded  602 new cases of coronavirus infection  in the reported period, while 697 people have  recovered from the virus.

97,625 tests  were conducted in the country between May 9 and 15,  including 86,222 antigen tests and 11,403 PCR tests.

As Covid cases have dramatically decreased in the country, the Georgian Government decided last month to release the coronavirus statistical information only once a week. 

Georgia has confirmed 1,655,221 cases of coronavirus since April 2020. 

The virus has claimed 16,811 lives since the outbreak of the pandemic.
