US allocates additional $100mln in arms aid for Ukraine

The administration of US President Joe Biden has given permission to provide additional military assistance worth $ 100 million to Ukraine, Reuters reported on Friday.


The new aid package includes 18 additional 155mm howitzers, 18 tactical vehicles and 3 anti-artillery radars, according to Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.


Including this assistance, the United States has provided $ 3.9 billion in arms and equipment assistance to Ukraine since February 24, since the Russian invasion of the country.


The  US Senate has also approved a bill that would provide Ukraine with an additional $ 40 billion in financial assistance.
