66,000 Russians cross into Europe in a week - EU border control agency

The EU Border Control Agency has stated that, in one week, between  September 19-25, 66,000 citizens of Russia entered the territory of the EU, which is 30% more than the figure of the previous week.

According to the agency, most Russian citizens had entered the EU through the border points of Finland and Estonia.

It suggested that the crossing of the Finnish border has increased significantly after the mobilization announced in Russia last week, with 30,000 Russian citizens arriving in Finland in four days

The EU border control agency stated that the majority of Russian citizens entering the territory of the European Union had the right of residence, a Schengen visa, or dual citizenship.

Since September 21, after the declaration of partial mobilization for war with Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin, tens of thousands of Russian citizens have been trying to leave the country and move by land to the territories of Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Georgia.
