The General Staff of Ukraine on Tuesday said that the command of the Russian Army decided to send the guard units from the Siberian Military District and the Russian military contingent stationed in Syria to the combat zone.

The Ukrainian body also said that in the past 24 hours, the Russian military had carried out three missile and 12 air strikes, and more than 100 attacks using rocket fire systems on the territory of Ukraine, on civil and military facilities. 

It added that more than 20 settlements, including Belogorodka, Zaitsevo, Mariinka and Bakhmut, located in the Donetsk region, were affected by air and missile attacks. According to the Ukrainian command, in other directions, the enemy used tanks, mortars and artillery in dozens of settlements.

The General Staff stressed that  in the last 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense Forces had repelled attacks by Russian units near seven settlements in the Donetsk region.

It stated that in the reported period, the aviation of the Ukrainian army had carried out 22 strikes and it had been confirmed that they destroyed three support points of the enemy, 16 places where military equipment and weapons were stored, and three anti-aircraft missile complexes. 

According to the command, the air defense forces shot down two unmanned aerial vehicles, and the missile and artillery units destroyed two control points of the enemy, 12 places for manpower and military equipment, two  warehouses of ammunition and an air defense facility.
