Hungary blocks €500 million for Ukraine’s armament

Hungary has blocked the allocation of another tranche worth 500 million euros for weapons intended for Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia from the European Peace Fund, ANSA reported on Monday. 

 

The allocation of the funds was planned for next Monday. 

 

“Hungary demands guarantees that the European Peace Fund will maintain its global status in the future and will not be used only to arm Kyiv," the publication said.

 

The European Peace Fund was established in 2021 and is financed by contributions from EU member states.
