US presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that he and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky aim for a just resolution to the ongoing war in Ukraine. This declaration came after their meeting in New York on September 27.
When asked by a journalist if his opinion changed after discussing with Zelensky, Trump responded that he “learned a lot” during their conversation.
“President Zelensky and I want this war to end. And we want it to end fairly. I believe this will happen at the right time,” Trump remarked.
He emphasized that while everyone desires a swift conclusion to the conflict, Zelensky specifically seeks a fair resolution. Trump noted that even Putin wishes for an end to the war, describing this as a “good combination.”
“That’s why we want a fair agreement for everyone,” Trump added.
The meeting between Trump and Zelensky came as a surprise, especially since just days earlier, Trump had indicated he did not plan to meet with the Ukrainian leader during his visit to the United States.
