Participants of the pro-European march titled Georgia Chooses the EU have gathered at Tbilisi’s Freedom Square today, demonstrating their support for Georgia’s European future.
Citizens joined the march from five different locations across Tbilisi: Heroes Square, Republic Square, the Monument of the 300 Aragvians, Mtatsminda, and Marjanishvili Square. Alongside ordinary citizens, opposition leaders, representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and activists from various sectors are participating in the event.
March participants have emphasized their primary goal: for Georgia to become a member of the European Union. They vowed to do everything in their power to achieve this aim.
“Freedom is knocking at our door, Europe is knocking at our door. We are just six days away from getting closer to freedom and Europe. Today’s turnout is crucial, and it sends a clear message to Georgian Dream that they have lost the election. On the 27th, we will celebrate a great victory, and it will certainly happen,” said opera singer Paata Burchuladze, addressing the crowd.
After speeches from several speakers, concert is scheduled to take place at Freedom Square.
