US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has arrived in Kyiv, marking his fourth visit to Ukraine since taking office.
Announcing his arrival, Austin emphasized the United States’ ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia. “I returned to Ukraine for the fourth time as the Secretary of Defense, thus showing that the United States, along with the international community, continues to support Ukraine,” he wrote on social media.
During his visit, Austin is set to hold discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
The talks will focus on Ukraine’s current defense needs and future support for its armed forces, especially as American aid hinges.
