Coalition For Change leader says opposition leads in exit polls

One of the leaders of the coalition For Change, Nika Gvaramia, stated that according to both exit polls, Georgian Dream is projected to fall short, with fewer than 70 seats, indicating an opposition victory. He said the opposition is united and confident in forming a coalition government should the results hold.

Gvaramia emphasized that any attempts by Georgian Dream to tamper with or nullify votes could have serious consequences. He expressed hope that Bidzina Ivanishvili, leader of the Georgian Dream, would accept the results and allow a peaceful transition. Gvaramia also noted that the opposition currently leads with an estimated 85-65 seat split, a margin expected to grow as votes from expatriates, who largely support the opposition, are counted.

“Today’s monitoring efforts are crucial,” Gvaramia said, pointing out that opposition observers are collecting printed receipts from voting machines in real time. He added, “This transparency is key to preventing any potential vote tampering. If Georgian Dream attempts to forge or annul results during the count, it will only precipitate their verdict.”
