Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Coalition for Change, declared that his coalition does not recognize the recent election results, alleging widespread electoral fraud and calling the election a “constitutional coup.” Gvaramia accused the ruling Georgian Dream party of orchestrating the alleged fraud and insisted they will ultimately be held accountable.
Gvaramia emphasized that billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, seen as the party’s key figure, has a final opportunity to facilitate a peaceful transition of power to retain a positive legacy.
“This is not Russia or Venezuela; this is Georgia,” Gvaramia stated, adding that if Georgian Dream refuses to acknowledge the opposition’s victory, the coalition is prepared to pursue its own path and appeal directly to the Georgian people.
