Main goal is new elections and regaining victory, says opposition leader

Tina Bokuchava, the chair of the United National Movement, underscored the primary objective of the opposition during a recent rally: to secure new elections and reclaim what she described as their rightful victory. Speaking to protesters, Bokuchava highlighted the urgency of their cause, emphasizing the need for united action against the ruling party Georgian Dream, and its leader Bidzina Ivanishvili.

In her remarks, she criticized the recent display of a controversial map by MP Kakha Papuashvili that excluded occupied regions of Georgia, calling it a betrayal of the nation.

“We have seen Ivanishvili’s true plans for our country, and we will not tolerate this,” she declared, insisting that the opposition would fight relentlessly for their democratic rights and sovereignty.

Bokuchava expressed pride in the solidarity shown by the Georgian people and opposition parties, stating, “We are standing together, united in our fight for a European Georgia.” She reiterated the determination to prevent the erosion of their rights and to ensure that future generations grow up in a country aligned with European values.

“The plan is clear: we will not rest until we regain our victory and hold new elections,” she affirmed, calling on all Georgians to join the struggle.
