Ukraine’s Kryvyi Rih and Mykolaiv have declared days of mourning following a series of Russian missile strikes that claimed the lives of at least nine civilians, including three children, over recent days. These attacks on civilian areas and energy infrastructure come as winter approaches, intensifying the already severe humanitarian impact on residents.
In Kryvyi Rih, a Day of Mourning has been scheduled for November 13. The city grieves the loss of a 32-year-old woman and her three children—aged 10 years, 2 years, and 2 months—killed when a missile struck their five-story apartment building. Rescue workers recovered the four bodies from the rubble after an hours-long search, reported city governor Oleksandr Vilkul on November 12. Fourteen others, including several children, were injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, in Mykolaiv, Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych declared November 12 as a Day of Mourning after five people died in a similar attack on a residential building on November 11. Both cities mourn the innocent lives lost and call for international attention to the escalating toll on Ukraine’s civilian population as Russia intensifies its campaign against civilian and energy infrastructure.
