On November 18, missile strikes launched by Russia resulted in the deaths of at least 21 people and injuries to over 100 in Odesa and Sumy, according to Ukrainian officials.
A missile strike hit Odesa in the afternoon, killing 10 people and injuring 39 others, including a child. Odesa Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Kiper stated on Telegram that four of the injured are in critical condition. The attack damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.
Earlier in the day, a missile struck a residential building in the city of Sumy, approximately 40 kilometers from the Russian border. The strike killed 11 people, including two children, and injured 89 others, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
Rescue efforts are ongoing as authorities assess the full extent of the damage caused by the attacks.
