The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, stated in an interview with Mtavari Arkhi that anyone entering the Georgian Parliament today is effectively aligning themselves with Russia.
“As long as no political party enters Parliament, Georgian Dream remains isolated. They are alone—alone in Parliament, alone in government. This is a one-party system, with the government and Parliament entirely under the control of one man’s vertical authority. All institutions in the country are entirely dependent on this one party and one individual,” Zourabichvili remarked.
She emphasized that the only viable way out of the current political crisis is through new elections.
“This notion of enduring isolation—even with some external support—does not work. The only way out of this crisis is new elections, which would provide a stable opportunity to reconcile with the population, partners, and restore normal governance. Otherwise, Georgia risks falling entirely under Moscow’s influence. Does anyone truly believe that Georgians will accept such a scenario with gratitude?” she warned.
