Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday nominated Maka Botchorishvili, a seasoned diplomat and parliamentarian, as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“Maka Bochorishvili has demonstrated over 20 years of remarkable achievements in the diplomatic sphere. Since 2020, she has also played a pivotal role as Chair of the European Integration Committee, significantly contributing to Georgia’s progress, including obtaining EU candidate status,” Kobakhidze stated during a briefing.
Botchorishvili is set to replace Ilia Darchiashvili in the role.
