Tarash Papaskua, Georgia’s Ambassador to South Korea, on Friday publicly distanced himself from the Government’s decision to postpone EU accession talks until 2028.
In a social media post, the diplomat underscored the urgency of aligning with Western institutions, citing Russia’s continued occupation of Georgian territories and its aggression in Ukraine.
“Today, when Russia continues to occupy 20 percent of our country, is waging a devastating war against Ukraine, is fighting against Europe, the democratic world, and is threatening global security, we need more Europe and more NATO than ever; we need more solidarity and standing by the free world!” he wrote.
