A Russian attack on an industrial facility in Zaporizhzhia on January 8 has left one person dead and at least 30 injured, according to Governor Ivan Fedorov.
Fedorov confirmed that the injured individuals were transported to hospitals and that emergency response teams are actively working at the site. “Seven medical teams, police, and emergency services are at the scene,” he stated.
Zaporizhzhia, once home to over 710,000 residents before Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, has been a frequent target of Russian attacks, suffering extensive damage throughout the ongoing war.
This assault is part of a broader wave of Russian strikes across Ukraine. Over the past 24 hours, regional authorities reported two civilian deaths and 13 injuries nationwide.
Overnight, Russian forces launched 64 Shahed-type attack drones and other dummy drones across Ukraine, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. Air defenses intercepted 41 drones over nine oblasts, while 22 dummy drones were lost in Ukrainian airspace, three returned to Russia, and one flew into Belarus.
