Georgian PM, Chinese Ambassador focus on strengthening “result-oriented” cooperation

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Chinese Ambassador Zhou Qian met on Friday to discuss the ongoing development of the Georgia-China Strategic Partnership, with a focus on fostering “result-oriented cooperation.”

The meeting in the Government’s Tbilisi office highlighted the “positive progress” in trade and economic ties under the 2023 partnership agreement, the press office said.

Both officials emphasized the significant role of the free trade agreement, visa-free travel, and people-to-people connections in strengthening bilateral relations. They underscored these elements as key opportunities for enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
Reaffirming their commitment, both sides stressed the importance of advancing practical, results-driven partnerships across various sectors, the press office added.

During the meeting, Kobakhidze also expressed his condolences to Ambassador Zhou for the tragic earthquake in China, which claimed at least 126 lives, and wished a quick recovery for those affected by the disaster.
