Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Monitoring Mission, who are currently visiting Tbilisi, have begun meetings with local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and individuals injured during recent protests against the Government’s move last year to halt EU accession until 2028.
Ahead of the meeting, NGO representatives stated that they would brief the visiting officials on the recent political and legal developments in Georgia. The discussions will also focus on the physical violence that has been reported against citizens during the protests.
The PACE co-rapporteurs, Claude Kern and Edith Estrella, are set to meet with political party representatives in the coming days as part of their ongoing monitoring mission in the country.
