At the direction of Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II, the Georgian Patriarchate is sending food, clothing, medicine, warm blankets, and other essential supplies to those affected by the severe snowfall in western Georgia, according to an official statement.
Rescue services, government agencies, and volunteers are actively working to assist the victims, the Patriarchate noted.
“The heavy snowfall in western Georgia has had severe consequences for our people and the country as a whole. Unfortunately, there have been casualties. Authorities, rescue teams, and volunteers are doing everything possible to support those in the disaster zone.
By the decision of His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II, the Georgian Patriarchate will send food, clothing, medicine, warm blankets, and other aid to those affected.
May God bless those in the disaster-affected areas, may He bless all of Georgia and protect us from hardships,” the statement reads.
The Patriarchate also expressed gratitude to the charitable foundation “Aversi” for its support.
