Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit, the Georgian government confirmed on Thursday.
A welcoming ceremony is set to take place at Ashgabat International Airport upon his arrival. During the visit, Kobakhidze will meet with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for face-to-face talks on Friday.
Discussions will also extend to a broader format, with high-ranking officials from both countries participating. Negotiations will be led by Georgia’s First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Levan Davitashvili, and Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers. The two sides are expected to sign agreements “aimed at strengthening cooperation in various sectors”, the government press office said.
Kobakhidze is accompanied by a delegation that includes Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Infrastructure Minister Irakli Karseladze, Agriculture Minister Davit Songulashvili, Sports Minister Shalva Gogoladze, and the Head of the Government Administration, Levan Zhorzholiani.
