Man who tried to set wife on fire in Germany surrenders – exclusive to Front News

A Georgian man who attempted to set his wife on fire in Germany has surrendered to police, Front News has learned.

Tengo Kakiashvili, 46, was the subject of a police search after allegedly dousing his wife with gasoline and attempting to ignite her in the eastern city of Gera last week.

Doctors were able to save the woman, but her condition remains serious.

Kakiashvili turned himself in to the police on Monday morning, though details of his statement and the motive behind the attack are not yet known.

The couple, both Georgian nationals, had reportedly a history of domestic conflict.
