Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has stated that his government will not allow the success of what he calls “liberal fascism” in Georgia, emphasizing that all actions taken are in line with legal principles. Speaking in an interview with Georgia’s First Channel, Kobakhidze accused “liberal fascists” of conducting hate campaigns without facing consequences.
“You can see the methods of liberal fascism—it allows people to insult anyone without accountability, and not just politicians. Take Eurovision, for example. It’s a competition organized under their umbrella, and if there’s a participant they dislike, they launch massive hate campaigns. We saw this last year with contestant Nutsa Buzaladze, and now the same is happening with this year’s contestant. Even political leaders have joined these attacks, which is shameful,” Kobakhidze said.
He criticized ongoing protests, claiming that a small group of demonstrators could block central streets without facing administrative penalties.
“Georgia is a unique country—show me another place where 300 people can shut down the central avenue of an entire nation. We have offered an unprecedented level of service to our opponents, allowing such protests without consequences,” he stated.
Kobakhidze declared that those opposing the government’s legislative initiatives are supporters of “liberal fascism,” the “war party,” and the “party of hate.” He reaffirmed that his administration will not allow their influence to prevail in Georgia.
