Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, on Monday held an official meeting with the newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Slovenia and the Holy See.
Konstantine Surguladze has been appointed as Georgia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Slovenia, while Davit Mekvabishvili will serve as the Ambassador to the Holy See.
During the meeting held at the Government Administration, the Prime Minister congratulated the diplomats on their new appointments and wished them success in their forthcoming missions, the Government press office said.
Surguladze brings extensive diplomatic experience to his new role, having previously served as the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Affairs, as well as Georgia’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Republic of Italy, the press office noted.
Mekvabishvili also has a diplomatic background, with prior service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta in Georgia.
