The President of Georgia on Friday pardoned 22 convicts, according to a statement published on the President’s official website.
The statement revealed that 14 of the pardoned individuals were fully released from serving their sentences in prison, including one woman.
The remaining prison terms were shortened for the others.
The identities of the pardoned individuals have not been disclosed by the administration.
As per the Constitution of Georgia, the President holds the exclusive authority to pardon individuals convicted of serious crimes without providing any explanation.
