Visible emission control measures, introduced on September 4 of last year, have resulted in a significant number of fines across Georgia’s four largest cities. The initiative, aimed at reducing air pollution, has targeted vehicles with excessive emissions in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Kutaisi, and Batumi.
According to official reports, a total of 6,683 drivers have been fined for violating emission standards since the program’s implementation.
Tbilisi, the capital city, accounted for the majority of these infractions, with 3,177 fines issued. Kutaisi followed with 1,330 violations, while Batumi and Rustavi recorded 1,145 and 1,031 fines, respectively.
