A protest rally is taking place in front of the parliament. Media representatives and civic activists are gathered on the main avenue of the capital.
Media representatives, civil activists, politicians and citizens are protesting against the death of TV First cameraman Lekso Lashkarava and the events of July 5-6. Those gathered on the ground demand the resignation of the Prime Minister and the government.
Police are mobilized on the spot. Like yesterday, there are yellow buses in the vicinity of the Parliament. Journalist Vakho Sanaia reads the names of the media representatives on the stage who were injured during the July 5 events.
Politicians, civil activists and citizens gathered in front of the parliament to applaud the names of the injured media representatives.
In this way, they express solidarity with the media.
“We will not give up Rustaveli to anyone! We will stay here until the final victory! You do not know what Kartli Media is, it seems. “Georgian Dream, look at us, you will not understand the dictatorship in this country, because we will not allow it,” – Vakho Sanaia, a journalist of Formula TV, said at a protest rally in front of the parliament on Rustaveli Avenue.
According to him, the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili will have to resign and the people standing in front of the parliament today will “accept” the resignation of the head of government.
“Kobakhidze, pull your hair, show your eyes and look at how many of us there are. These people will defend the rights of the lexicon, these people will answer you, you who speak like a crippled robot, who has ravaged the whole media today and we will not forgive you for that. I will remind you of the statement of the CEC chairman that he would not go anywhere, where is he today? – He is not in office, exactly, Irakli Gharibashvili will resign and we, who are standing here, who are in front of the TV screens, will do it. Lots of people join us. “We will put this result, we will accept the resignation of the Prime Minister,” Sanaia said.
He also voiced the names of media workers who were injured in the coverage of the July 5 events. According to Sanaia, these are the people who were persecuted by the government on Rustaveli Avenue.
“The Georgian government does not realize what it has done. They accuse us of state crime today. I will read all over the world the names and surnames of the people you have killed here.
It is these people who will finish you, who stood on this square and did their duty. Prime Minister, you promised these people death and you will answer them as needed.
Either you will be in power, or we will continue our activities and if we are not, coming down to this country is not decisive and decisive is not what we live for, we raise our children, it is not decisive where we will continue to live, we will enlighten Rustaveli, we will defeat Brot “We will defeat without fail!” – Vakho Sanaia said.
