A joint protest march by representatives of the arts and IT sectors culminated at the Georgian Parliament, with participants completely blocking traffic in the area.
The demonstrators are demanding the release of individuals detained during ongoing protests against the government’s decision last month to delay the country’s EU integration and the holding of new elections.
Protesters also urged public sector employees to strike, emphasizing that “inaction and not voting today are crimes.”
Carrying Georgian and EU flags alongside banners with slogans such as “The Conservatory will not be preserved” and “Freedom for Anri Kakabadze,” the rally underscored their calls for justice and reform.
The arts sector protesters initially gathered near the State Conservatory before merging with the IT sector marchers at the intersection of Chavchavadze, Varaziskhevi, and Melikishvili streets.
Together, the unified march proceeded to key locations, including the Public Broadcaster, Tbilisi City Hall, and the House of Justice, before reaching Parliament.
Throughout the march, organizers called on citizens to join the protest and participate in the strike, amplifying their demands for action and accountability.
