President Joe Biden has accepted an invitation from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to speak at a meeting of Congress, the White House said.
"The President accepted the invitation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives to speak at a joint session of Congress on April 28 on the eve of 100 days in office," the White House said in a statement.
Pelosi wrote to Biden: "I am writing to you to speak at the joint session of Congress on Wednesday, April 28 to share my vision for the challenges and opportunities of this historic moment."
She recalled: "Almost 100 days ago, when you took the oath, you vowed in a spirit of great hope that" help is on the way. "Thanks to your historic and transformative leadership, help is here!"
Typically, newly inaugurated presidents address Congress within weeks of their inauguration, Biden still hasn't done so due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
