British citizen arrested in Georgia for drug offenses

Officers of the Mtskheta District Division under the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a British citizen, identified as D.H., born in 1988, on charges related to the illegal purchase, possession, and cultivation of a large quantity of narcotics.

According to the Ministry, the arrest followed a series of operative and investigative actions. During the search of the suspect’s residence and personal belongings, law enforcement seized a large quantity of narcotic substances prepared for sale, along with an electronic scale. Additionally, 13 cannabis plants were confiscated from a greenhouse specifically set up for drug cultivation.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260, 265, and 273(1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia. If convicted, the offenses carry a sentence ranging from 4 to 11 years of imprisonment.
