British Prime Minister Starmer arrives in Kyiv for historic visit

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has arrived in Kyiv, where he was greeted by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, Vadym Prystaiko, and the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Reuters reported on Thursday.

During the visit, Prime Minister Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are set to sign a historic agreement establishing a 100-year partnership between the United Kingdom and Ukraine.

Ahead of the visit, Starmer underscored the deepening ties between the two nations, stating: “Putin’s desire to alienate Ukraine from its closest partners has been a stunning strategic failure. We are now closer than ever, and this partnership will take our friendship to a new level.”

The agreement is expected to formalize enduring cooperation across key sectors, reinforcing the UK’s unwavering support for Ukraine as it continues to defend its sovereignty and rebuild for the future.
