Georgian Railway reports that a child was fatally struck by a train near the Batumi station. The incident resulted in the child’s immediate death at the scene.
“A tragic accident occurred near the Batumi station, where a passenger train hit a young child. Unfortunately, the minor died on the spot. The train was approaching the platform and was scheduled to operate the Batumi-Kutaisi route.
Patrol and criminal police have arrived at the scene. Georgian Railway expresses its sorrow over the tragedy and extends its condolences to the family of the deceased,” reads the statement released by the railway administration.
