The Georgian Defence Ministry on Tuesday said its senior instructor Temur Kharchilava, who had been involved in search and rescue efforts following the August 3 deadly landslide in the country’s western Shovi resort, has died of an alleged heart attack.
Kharchilava has become the second professional involved in the operation who died of a heart attack while on duty.
The Georgian Interior Ministry on August 7 announced the death of its employee Mirian Chelidze in Shovi of heart attack.
The landslide has killed 31, including minors, while two are still missing.
