Former President Giorgi Margvelashvili addressed protesters on Rustaveli Avenue, declaring that the struggle for new elections is non-negotiable and must culminate in victory for the Georgian people. He emphasized that the demand for new elections is echoed by each individual present, the broader political spectrum, and supported by international partners.
Margvelashvili warned that conceding to the ruling party, the Georgian Dream, would lead to a loss of national dignity and autonomy.
“If we allow this group to prevail, we will never be able to stand tall again. We will become servants of Putin’s empire, suffocating in blood and despair,” he stated.
The former president urged the crowd to recognize that their fight is not just for themselves but for their families and their homeland. He reinforced the sentiment that surrendering is not an option and that their collective action will ultimately lead to success.
“This fight is inevitable, and it will end with our victory,” Margvelashvili stressed.
