“We are alive, we are not just numbers to be written down and falsified. We are living people, defending our homeland,” Georgia’s fourth president, Giorgi Margvelashvili stated while addressing the protesters at Rustaveli Avenue.
Margvelashvili stressed that the Georgian people and their politicians are united on one side, while on the other side stands a government pieced together by Russia and Putin.
“Look at us—at our supporters. We are alive; we are not just numbers to be manipulated. We are real, living people, standing in defense of our homeland. Until now, our Western partners have not stood as firmly beside us. We have shown the world the strength and commitment of our people, as they voted across Georgia and abroad, proving we are not Russia’s slaves. This is the strength we must build on and demonstrate to our partners: the Georgian people and politicians stand united on one side, while on the other side is a government assembled by Russia, by Putin. Our national motto is ‘Strength in Unity,’ and here is our unity,” declared Margvelashvili.
