Anders Fogh Rasmussen, former NATO Secretary General, voiced serious concerns over reports of vote rigging and violence during Georgia’s October 26 parliamentary elections, urging Europe to support Georgia’s pro-democracy movement against Russian influence.
In a statement shared on social media, he highlighted the urgent need for solidarity with those in Georgia advocating for a democratic and European-aligned future, free from foreign interference.
“The news of vote rigging and violence around the polling stations in Georgia yesterday are extremely alarming. We must stand with all those in Georgia who believe in a European future free from Russia’s malign influence,” Rasmoussen’s post reads.
“Georgia is Europe,” he asserted, underscoring the strategic importance of Georgia’s path toward European integration.
