Front News – Georgia is launching a three-month regional energy efficiency campaign as part of the European Union-supported energy sector reform project in Georgia.
The campaign aims to raise public awareness—particularly among youth, women, and vulnerable groups—about energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. By sharing information and knowledge across the project’s target region and throughout Georgia, the initiative seeks to encourage the adoption of sustainable energy practices. Additionally, various activities will be carried out and shared on Front News – Georgia’s website and the Facebook page EE Today.
The primary objective of the campaign is to promote the widespread adoption of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) technologies in rural areas. While the initiative primarily benefits its target region, it also aims to have a broader impact across Georgia through media engagement.
Over the next three months, the campaign will feature the following activities:
* A series of awareness-raising events in the Kareli Municipality
* A comprehensive social media campaign, available for tracking on the EE Today Facebook page
* A dedicated energy efficiency segment on Front News Georgia
* Educational competitions for young people
This initiative will foster public engagement and awareness regarding the environmental and economic benefits of EE/RE solutions. It will ensure the dissemination of accurate and reliable information on energy efficiency and renewable energy, empower young people as change ambassadors in rural communities, and promote knowledge about EE and RE technologies.
The Georgian Energy Sector Reform Program is implemented with financial support from the European Union and KfW. Since 2021, it has been managed by an international consortium led by intec and GOPA-International Energy Consultants GmbH. The regional energy efficiency campaign is carried out by LLC MES.
