Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding trade and investment opportunities in an Abu Dhabi meeting on Monday.
The UAE President hosted the Georgian delegation at his official residence, where Kobakhidze expressed his government’s commitment to supporting UAE investments in Georgia. He also welcomed the “growing interest from prominent development and logistics companies” in the country, according to a statement from the Georgian government.
Key topics included infrastructure projects, such as the Abu Dhabi Ports Group’s investment in the Tbilisi Dry Port. The leaders also highlighted the “conclusion of a major deal” with EMAAR, a UAE-based developer, involving a “multi-billion-dollar investment” in Georgia.
The Georgian government conveyed its interest in advancing discussions with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority to explore further collaboration on strategic logistics and transport initiatives.
In addition to economic matters, the talks addressed regional challenges and emphasized the importance of maintaining stability.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Kobakhidze extended an official invitation to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to visit Georgia.
