The Government of Georgia on Monday gave its stamp of approval to the 2024-2027 Communication Strategy, fostering a unified vision of “proactive, coherent, and coordinated” communication between the Government and the public.
According to the Government Administration, the strategic initiative was expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing public awareness while aligning with the long-term communication goals of the Government.
The strategy’s foundation lay in Vision 2030, a national policy document greenlit earlier this year, which the Administration assured is “fully consistent” with the country’s long-term development vision, strategic priorities, goals, and objectives.
A focus of the strategy is on combating disinformation and fake news, identified as a top priority, the press office added and noted the plan involved intensifying efforts against these phenomena and simultaneously enhancing the capabilities of the strategic communications units within state agencies.
