Georgia’s President Mikheil Kavelashvili is set to pay an official visit to Armenia later this month.
The visit, scheduled for 28 – 29 April, was approved following a formal request submitted by Kavelashvili to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. According to an official decree, consent was granted to strengthen ties between Georgia and Armenia.
During the two-day visit, Kavelashvili is expected to meet with key Armenian leaders, including the President, Prime Minister, President of the National Assembly and the Supreme Patriarch of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Catholicos Karekin II.
The announcement comes just a day after Kavelashvili completed his first official visit abroad since taking office late last year, travelling to Azerbaijan on Tuesday.
