Georgia’s State Security Service on Wednesday confirmed the illegal arrest of four Georgian citizens by the Russian-controlled occupation forces over the past several days.
Three of the four citizens were illegally detained in the Gali district of the occupied Abkhazia region, in the country’s northwest, while the remaining one in the Akhalgori district of the occupied Tskhinvali region.
“Information about the illegal detentions was immediately reported to the co-chairs of the international discussions in Geneva and international partners”, the agency said.
It also stressed “all existing mechanisms have been activated to release the illegally detained Georgian citizens in the shortest possible time”.
